Typewritten divorce certificate on official letterhead of the “Chief Rabbinate of Petah Tikva”, from 28th of Adar I, 1953. Beneath the title “Ma’aseh Beit Din”, the dayanim listed the records of the case, the get, and the names of those involved (as well as witnesses), and signed by hand: “Reuven ben Rav Shimon HaKohen Avdak, Yitzhak Meir ben Menachem, Ovadia Hadaya.” Official stamp of the Chief Rabbinate of Petah Tikva. Size 13.5x20cm. Signs of folding, small defect at the top, generally good condition.
Rabbi Reuven HaKohen Katz (1880-1964) was son of Rabbi Shimon, Rabbi of Petah Tikva for more than 30 years, and head of the Petah Tikva yeshiva and author of the Shut “Degel Reuven” and other books. He won the Rav Kook Prize for Religious Literature in 1950.
Rabbi Yizhak Meir ben Menachem (Pachiner) (1898-1960) was son of Rabbi Menachem Mendel, a member of the Supreme Rabbinical Court, a student of Rabbi Naftali Trop (the Garnat), and he worked to expand awareness of the Rishonim.
Kabbalist Rabbi Ovadia Hadaya (1890-1969) was the son of the kabbalist Rabbi Shalom. Served as head of the Beit El kabbalistic yeshiva, and as a member of the Chief Rabbinical Council, and the Supreme Rabbinical Court, Sefardi Chief Rabbi of Petah Tikva, and won the Israel Prize for Religious Literature in 1968. Authored the Shut Yaskil Avadi.
