By the holy Tanna Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. Third section on Vayikra, “published by Rabbi Zisha Meir Halprin, grandson of the Rabbi David Yaakov, Av Beit Din of Boslov.” [1], 308 pages. Stains and slight tears, folds, original leather binding is worn, coming apart, partially missing. Generally good condition. Blank front page and cover page has note: “Yitzhak Isaac Schwartzkopf-[?] of Rotzport.” Back of the cover has a long dedication, exciting, dated: “From 1927-[?] Satmar.” In it, the writer (dedicating it to Rabbi Aharon Gad HaKohen, Av Beit Din in Nimiza), writes that because of it “he will have blessing and sucesss”, and he signs his name “the holy Ben Zion Zeev Weiss, son of Malka.” Stamps of “Aharon Gad HaKohen.” As well.

Rabbi Aharon Gad Katz was rabbi of Nimiza (1887-1941), son of Rabbi Eliyahu, Av Beit Din of Roslovitz. Son-in-law of Rabbi Alter Landau of Kfar Botorach, next to Almin. He was a student of the Arugas HaBosem in Khust and the Kedushas Yom Tov in Sighet. In 1926 he was appointed Av Beit Din of Nimoza, where he served until his death. When he was around 54 years old, he authored Keren Ora on the Shas, a work unfortunately lost during the Shoah (Encyclopedia of Romanian Jewry, p. 553).
