The Odyssey (in Greek: Ὀδύσσεια) is one of the two great Greek epic works attributed to Homer, alongside the Iliad. The poetry, which is divided into twenty-four books, or poems, depicts the travels of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, on his return from the Trojan War, alongside the story of Telemachus, the son of Odysseus, who sets out to find his father. For two nights in the company of the Peyak nobles, Odysseus describes his adventures during the long journey home, which lasted almost ten years. Odysseus finally returned to his home and regained power on the island, after a greedy suitor group threatened to murder him. The Hebrew edition "translated from Ionian to Hebrew by Shaul Tchernichovsky". Jerusalem, 1941. On the title page Tchernichovsky signed a dedication with blue pen the year the book was published. XVII, 484 pages, [1] page. Additional title page in Latin. Original binding. A few moth holes and stains. Generally good condition.
