Includes Meorei Ohr—a commentary on holy names through the kabbalah of the Arizal, by the kabbalist Rabbi Meir ben Yehuda Leib HaKohen Poprash (1624-1662), who edited and organised the Arizal’s Torah. With Ya’ir Nativ, by Rabbi Natan Neta ben Rabbi Yehuda Leib Mannheim (died 1743), and Rabbi Yaakov ben Rabbi Binyamin Wolf of Vilna, who both moved to Jerusalem with Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid. Missing the cover page and next page [10 (originally 12)], 88 pages. Signatures of the kabbalist Rabbi Nissim Eini in a number of places, additional signature of ownership unidentified on page 6. Number of glosses on first page. Stamp: “Avraham Mendel [Emmanuel] Freis.” Tears and tape in a number of places with damage to text. Moth damage, generally ok to good condition. Rebound.

Rabbi Nissim Eini (died 1900) was a sage and rabbi of Babylon and a Jerusalem kabbalist. He was a great student of Rabbi Abdallah Somech. He moved to Israel in 1857, settled in Jerusalem, studied at the “Knesset Yehezkel and Chessed El” yeshivot and soon became known as a great kabbalist and rabbi in the city. He edited and published important works of kabbalah like Divrei Shalom and the siddur “Chukat Olam.” Considered proficient in editing calendars. A friend from youth was the gaon Rabbi Eliyahu Mani.
