The Rabbanit Bat Sheva Esther Kanievsky (1932-2012) was the daughter of the Grish Elyashiv zt'l and Marat Sheina Haya, the daughter of Rabbi Aryeh Levin zt'l. In the month of Kislev 1951, she married Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, Shlita, the son of the Kehilot Yaakov, Rabbi Ya'akov Israel Kanievsky – "The Steipler", the match was made by the Chazon Ish. In parallel with her husband receiving audiences (which continues to the present day), the rabbanit began to receive women at their famous home on Rashbam Street in Bnei Brak, women came to receive her tips and blessings known there and in fame and word-of-mouth exemplars about her blessings. On Shabbat Chol Hamoed, 2012, she passed away, tens of thousands accompanied her on her last journey and she was buried in the Sabbath observant cemetery in Bnei Brak.
