Typewritten letter on official letterhead, from 27th of Sivan 1944, with a request to Rabbi Avraham Yitzhak Klein (1875-1961), rabbi of Nuremberg and then of the Charedi community of Haifa and a member of the Council of Torah Sages, informing him that the national conference held in Petah Tikva has decided to re-establish the "Council of the Torah" as it was before the Shoah, and asks him to join as a council member, as he would in time be. Particularly interesting is the list attached to this letter, with the names of the members of the council, and some of the title amendments, among the members included, the Admor the Imrei Emet of Gur , the Abir Ya'akov of Sadigura, the Damesek Eliezer of Vizhnitz, Rabbi Aharon of Belz, the Chazon Ish, Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer, the Maharitz Dushinsky and more. The letter is signed by the heads of Agudat Israel, Rabbi Moshe Beloya, Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Levin, and Rabbi Yitzchak Breuer. Folding marks. Minor stains. Good overall condition.
