By the former Chief of Staff and Minister of Defense, Moshe Dayan, published by Am HaSefer, Tel Aviv 1965. With his personal dedication to Refael Bashan, from Rosh Hashana 1966. Moshe Dayan (1916-1981) was the fourth Chief of Staff of the IDF, and he led it during Operation Kadesh (1956). He was a member of Knesset and minister in the Israeli government, including the Ministry of Defense during the Six Day War, War of Attrition, and the Yom Kippur War. Dayan also contributed greatly to the peace accord with Egypt as Foreign Minister during Begin’s administration. Refael Bashan (Blumenstein) (1930-2001) was a journalist and interviewer for Ma’ariv and Yediot Achronot. He stood out in the Israeli media for his unique interviews, in which he would have text as well as descriptions of how his interviewees looked and their reactions.
