Ge’onut and Amal Torah 

On the flyleaf, the handwritten signature of the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Nosson Kotler:"מספרי שלמה נתן חונה באוזווענט"; in addiiton, an entire page with Chidushei Torah handwritten by him. Throughout the book, doznes of important scholarly glosses, some of them lengthy, handwritten by him and indicating his vast knowledge of the four parts of the Shulchan Aruch.  

The great Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Nosson Kotler (1866-1945) one of Gedolei Hador of Lithuania, Av Beit Din of several communities and Ram in Slabodka and the Rabbi Yitzchak Elchonon Yeshiva in New York. Rabbi Eliezer Gordon, the Rosh Yehsiva of Telz, said of him that he was the Ketzot Hachoshen of our generation. Was in charge of the Semicha of the students of the Slabodka yeshiva and only after his signature did the other rabbis of the yeshiva add their signatures. Author of Kerem Shlomo and Beit Shlomo. Immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1935.
