On the title page, a handwritten signature: "הק’ חיים ראב"ד מדרעזניץ".

Rabbi Chaim Oppenheim Av Beit Din of Dreznitz (1771-1823) the son of Rabbi Itzik Oppenheim of Pressburg. A disciple of Rabbi Yosef Steinhardt Av Beit Din of Furth. Managed a yeshiva in Dreznitz, Moravia, and supported its students using his money. In his old age, served there as Rav without expecting a reward.
