Special letter with Divrei Torah – handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Weltz Av Beit Din of Budapest – Addressed to the famed Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Waldenberg, the author of the Tzitz Eliezer – with a response to his criticism of Rabbeinu’s words in his book the Tzitz Eliezer – Jerusalem, 1973.

Lengthy response to the words of the Tzitz Eliezer in his book pertainign to two Chalitzot. Rabbi Weltz begins his letter with a quote from the Tzitz Eliezer: "עתה באתי אך ורק שתמה עלי בספרו הנחמד… עמש"כ להסתפק בתל תלפיות בעניין ב’ חליצות ביום א…. שלא ראיתי מש"כ הגאון רבנו החיד"א ז"ל בספרו מראית העין…".

Later, Rabbeinu quotes from books by the Acharonim supporting his position.

The letter indicates Rabbeinu’s reverence toward the author of the Tzitz Eliezer. Among others’ Rabbeinu uses superlatives to describe him: "הרב הגאון צנא מלא ספרא ערוה"ב גן הדסים המפורסם בכל חדרי תורה ברוב בקיאתו….". In addiiton, Rabbeinu signed the letter with his and his mother’s name, as a request from the Tzitz Eliezer to pray for him.
