Lot 250:
Shut Minchat Moshe by the gaon Rabbi Moshe Nachum Yerushalmsky, a great meishiv of his generation and a leader of Polish Jewry. Warsaw 1882.
The blank first leaf of Sefer Ketuvim has “Sefer Minchat Moshe of the Rabbi Pinchas of Kantikoziva” and “This book belongs to the Admor shlita of Kantikoziva.”
The title page has the signature of his son and successor, Rabbi Menachem Nachum Rabinowitz, “an inheritance from the Aamor…his son Menachem Nachum Rabino…(a little cut-off).”
Moth holes, fair condition.
Rabbi Pinchas Rabinowitz (1861-1926), served as rebbe in Kantikoziva (Charson region). Succeeded his father, Rabbi Yitzchak Yo’el, as rebbe in Linitz. Described as tremendous genius in all facets of the Torah. His composition Avodat Yitzchak on the Torah remained handwritten. Among his sons: Rabbi Ya’akov Yisrael the Rebbe of Charson, and Rabbi Menachem Nachum Rabinowitz Av Beit Din of Haifa. Among his sons-in-law: the Rebbes Rabbi Moshe of Stolin and Rabbi Yitzchak of Skver.
His son Rabbi Menachem Nachum (1887-1959) was the author of the book Machshevet Nachum and succeeded his father. After the Communists strengthened their persecution of religion he moved to Israel and served as Av Beit Din in Haifa.
