Second section, “Bayit Maleh,” questions and answers asked by the generation’s sages and students. Zultzbach, 1830. Amongst the pages are 4 glosses on policy, dealing with the book’s content, in the handwriting of the compiler. 2 are especially long, one opens with the words “I continued to sit,” another “My student Maharari Dov.” The Gaon Rabbi Avraham Binyamin Zeev Wolf Hamburg (1770-1850), an exceptional Gaon, head of the yeshiva and Av Beit Din of Furth, one of those who fought against the Haskala, he organized a deep defense against attempts by the authorities to include secular studies into the yeshiva, it was closed twice as a result, but he continued to hold lessons in secret in his home. His books are considered important works of halacha. Most of the book has moth damage, it’s in bad to ok conidition, one gloss is damaged at the edge.
