Letter on a postcard to his student HaRav Hanoch Shechter, answering his letter and blessing him. Written entirely by hand and signed. HaRav Meshulam Rata: 1875-1962, born in Galicia to a Chortkov Chassidic family, studied Torah with HaRav Yaakov Widenfeld Av Beit Din of Rimlov, HaRav Avraham Steinberg ba’al ‘Mehaze Avraham’ and Av Beit Din Brodzy, and HaRav Meir Arik; by age 13 he was already know in the Jewish world as a “the genius from Horodenka,” was a judge and arbiter of halacha in Ukraine, Romania, and Israel, a dayan in the Great Rabbinical Court and a member of the Council of the Chief Rabbinate at the time of Israel’s establishment, compiled a book of questions and answers called “Kol Mevaser.” Good condition, water stain.
