Auction 6
Lot 197:
Parchment sheet measuring 95x66cm, upon which is written Megillat Esther (sefardi script) with a decorated framework and illustrated with golden sketching and different colors. In the center is an ink drawing in black with gold etchings—Haman leading Mordechai (“such is done to the man…”) riding on a horse to save the Jews of Shushan. The writing of the megillah is done by two different people (it is possible to see the difference in handwriting). The bottom section is missing and has been rehabilitated with the gluing of an additional piece of parchment with the completion of the writing and illustrations. Not sold as a kosher megillah. Generally good condition.
