Sefer Mayan Hachochmah, an original work on Taryag Mitzvot, written in poetic language and alphabetically ordered. With a commentary by the Gaon Rabbi Noah Chaim Zvi (ben Rabbi Avraham Meir) Berlin.
Edited and proofread by his disicple the Gaon and linguist Rabbi Wolf ben Rabbi Shimshon Heidenheim, the Raveh, and was printed by him and his partner Baruch Bashevitz – first edition, Rodelheim, 1804. [4], 142 leaves. In this copy, leaves 57-58 are missing. In the Rare Book Collection of the National Library.
Approbations by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Zamosht and Rabbi Meshulam Zalman Cohen of Furth. After them, 4 pages with a list of subscribers from Germany to Scandinavia.
Old binding, ancient leather spine. Restoring taping to the title page and some of the first leaves. Stains. Good overall condition.
On the title page, a partly erased stamp: "רפאל הכהן קוק רב ראשי טבריא…" and blurred ancient stamps. Blurred ancient Ashkenazic notation. Some pen and pencil comments. A handwritten leaf was inserted between the leaves of the book.
