Lot 366:
Fascinating letter implying to mysterious polemic affairs – handwritten by the great Gaon Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Farber author of Kerem Hazbi and more – London, 1962.
In his letter, Rabbi Farber informs the Gaon rabbi Yechzekel Sarna, the Rosh Yeshiva of Hebron, that he managed to obtain and send him the amount of a thousand pounds (a huge amount in those days), implying to varied difficulties he encountered: Rabbi Farber asks that two rooms be dedicated to the donors in the Hebron Yeshiva: "ונא לכתוב להם ברכה וכבוד לחזק עושי מצות ומע"ט…".
The letter indicates that it was written in Rabbi Farber’s old age, as he himself writes at the end of the letter: "בידים מזעזעות ורפות עבד נאמן, לעבדי ה’ הנאמנים…"
