Lot 361:
Letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yuda Zvi Israel, the representative of the Ladies Ezrath Torah of Manchester, addressed to the Gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna, the Rosh Yeshiva of Hebron in Jerusalem – Manchester, 1935.
In some communities, there were charity organizations of women who organized fundraisers and dinners for women and philanthropists. However, this was uncommon, especially in orthodox communities. This is a letter on charity matters which was sent by the Ladies Ezrath Torah of Manchester. The letter is signed by Rabbi Yuda Zvi Israel, who, apparently, was the chairman of Va’ad Hayeshivas of England.
