Letter to Rav Isser Yehuda Unterman. Begins with a blessing for a happy new year and gmar hatima tovah. Then he continues with divrei torah on Shabbat and horeg nefesh. The rabbi Landinsky (1862-1938) served as head of the Radin yeshiva (of the Chafetz Haim) for forty years. Born in Kanishin next to Bialystock, at 22 he was married to the daughter of the Rabbi Yisrael Neiman. In 1900 he was called upon by the Chafetz Haim to serve as head of the Radin yeshiva, upon the recommendation of his teacher HaNatziv of Volozhin. After a few years he was appointed alongside Rav Naftali Trop. That whole time he was right-hand man to the Chafetz Haim, and edited some of his books. After the death of the Chafetz Haim, the economic situation of the yeshiva declined and Rav Landinsky had to travel to London to get money to reinforce the yeshiva. 2 pages, 22 lines. Signs of folding, generally very good condition.
