Sefer Shulchan Hatahor, the famed work by Rabbi Aharon Roth author of the Shomer Emunim. With approbations by many Admorim and famed rabbis [see Hebrew catalog]. First edition, Satmar [1933].
[8], 2-10, [2], 15-33, 42-180, 34-41, 189-271, 11-14, 276-300, [1] leaves. In this copy, the last leaf with the table of errors was bound at the beginning of the book. Many moth perforations. Ancient and worn semi-leather binding (possibly original?). Stains and other blemishes. Fair overall condition.
On the first and second title pages, two stamps in Hebrew and a foreign language indicating this was a copy of the holy Gaon and wonder worker Rabbi Sheraga Shmuel Schnitzler Av Beit Din of Tshaba. In addiiton, on the flyleaf, a handwritten dedication: "…לאחי היקר… קכש"ת מו"ה נפתלי ראזענפעלד שו"ב וש"ץ בקה"י ב’ טשאבא יע"א…
Rabbi Sheraga Shmuel Schnitzler Av Beit Din of Tshaba (1889-1980) the son of Rabbi Baruch Yehuda, a descendant of the holy Gaon Rabbi Shmelke of Nikolsburg. Was a Chassidic Rav of several villages and towns in Hungary. Was a famed wonder-worker. Was a disciple of Rabbi Menachem Brody of Kaliv and Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald of Satmar and a leading Chassid of the Maharid of Belz and his son the Admor Rabbi Aharon, He merited being buried near Rabbi Aharon’s gravesite. Was Rav of Tshaba (Békéscsaba, Hungary). After World War II, immigrated to Jerusalem, where by the advice of his holy Rav of Belz, he refused a position of Rav and where he passed away in 1980. After his passing, his Divrei Torah were published by his grandson and successor Rabbi Meshulam Shalom Weinberg in the book Birkot Shmuel. His father-in-law (by his second marriage) was the Admor Rabbi Eliezer Zussia of Skolen. His descendants are important Chareidi Admorim, Rabbis and dignitaries in Israel and abroad.
