Sefer Pri HaEtz on the Torah, section II on Bamidbar Devarim, by Rabbi Yehuda Modern of Siget, author of Zichron Shmuel on Hilchot Gittin. "אשר חנני החונן לאדם דעת ללקוט ציצים ופרחים מדברי תורתינו הקדושה ולהציע בחברת רעים מקשיבים הבאים בצל קורתי מדי שבת בשבתו".

First edition – Munkatch, 1887. 110 leaves. In this copy, the last leaf is missing. Fine new binding. Professionally restored title page. Some moth perforations. Small tears along the edges of some leaves. Fungus to the margins of most leaves. Except for this, good overall condition.

On the top of the title page, a notation: "ב"ה מנחה שלוחה אלי מאת הגאון המחבר נ"י" ו (A gift by the Gaon author) and beneath it, his ownership signature:  "ה"ק שלמה זלמן אהרענרייך" – the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich (1863-1944) Av Beit Din of Shamloy and author of Shut Lechem Shlomo. A Gaon, Chassid and Kabbalist, one of the leading rabbis of Hungary, a leading Chassid of the Admor author of the Kedushat Yom Tov of Siget and an admirer of his son the Admor Rabbi Yoel of Satmar, who, like him, sharply objected to Zionism and Agudat Yisrael. Yet, he was also known for his love of Eretz Yisrael and his community sent the largest donations to Eretz Yisrael. During the Holocaust, he could escape to Romania yet refused to do so, saying he now had a chance to observe the Mitzvah of Kiddush Hashem. He perished in Auschwitz with most of his family.

A single handwritten correction on leaf 20.

On the lower part of the title page, signatures: "הק’ יחיאל שטערן" and "הק’ חיים עהרנרייך" – apparently, the son of the Rav of Shamloy.
