Sefer Pardes Hachochma, an original, basic philosophical work "exploring the roots of Torah and Emunah… Tamei Hakorbanot.. Tamei Haktoret… miracles… prophecy… Providence, the Exodus from Egypt…" by Rabbi Moshe ben Rabbi Aharon of Salant, Maggid Meisharim of Mir, Lithuania. His first philosophy book. 

A work that was rare in its style, first and single edition – Sudilkov, 1836. [2], 108, [1] leaves. Important approbations by contemporary rabbis: Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Broda Av Beit Din of Salant, Rabbi Yehuda Leib Broda Av Beit Din of Kalvrie, Rabbi Avraham Abele Av Beit Din of Vilna and more. 

At the end of the book, under the title "הוי מתפלל בשלומה של מלכות" is a passage dealing with the ban on printing the book except for the heirs. At its end, the handwritten signature of the author: "משה במה"ר אהרן זללה"ה".


After it, a lengthy list of subsribers, mainly from Lithuania.

Stains. Moth perforations and damage. Some small tears. Fair overall condition. 

On verso of the binding, notations indicating this copy was apparently owned by Rabbi Moshe Danishevsky (1830-1910) the Rav of Slabodka, one of the founders and manager of the Knesset Beit Yitzchak Yeshiva, author of Be’er Moshe. Was the Rav of the Or Same’ach of Dvinsk.
