Sefer Hamada of Mishneh Torah, the Yad Hachazakah by Rabbeinu Moshe Bar Maimon with an elucidation and commentary by Rabbi Eliyahu Soloveitchik, the grandson of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin and the uncle of the Beit Halevi, the father of the Brisk dynasty. Was a pretentious Rav who claimed that the New Testament was misunderstood by all and actually the work was a Jewish one, expressing belief in one G-d. He authored his own commentary on the New Testament demonstrating the book did not contracdict the Jewish faith.

Single edition (except for a single facsimile edition) – Danzig, 1844-5. [2], 62 leaves. Pocket format. Stains. Loose binding. Slightly incomplete spine. Good overall condiiton. 

On the title page, a stamp:  "ארי’ ליב בהרה"צ אלימלך דוב ז"ל ד"צ פעה"ק ירושלם ת"ו" – referring to Rabbi Aryeh Leib Herschler (1850-1917) was a known Dayan in the Old Yishuv of Jerusalem at the beginning of the 20th century. Served for 25 years as a Dayan in the court of Rabbi Shmuel Salant. Led a group of founders of the Beit Yisrael neighborhood in Jerusalem (there is a street there named after him) and served as Rav and head of the residential association, and then was a founder of Sha’arei Pina and Givat Sha’ul. Was a member of the State Court, and a representative of the Ashkenazic Jewish community at the Municipality of Jerusalem under the Ottomans.
