Sefer HaChaim, halachot on the reading from a sefer torah by Rabbi Chaim Palagi.
On the back of the title page is a faded note created by the gluing of the 2nd leaf to the back of the title page, which seems to feature a signed dedication from Rabbi Chaim Palagi (this is not the original dedication—it is the ink imprint created when the 2nd leaf stuck to the back of the title page and is no longer in this copy). A number of handwritten corrections in several places in the book.
The index leaves has corrections which we’ve seen in additional copies of this book (perhaps written by the author himself after printing?). The bottom of the title page has the number {16} printed, which is the serial number in terms of this book’s place in the oeuvre of Rabbi Chaim Palagi (in other words, this is the Rabbi’s 16th book).
Variant: the page which ends the introduction and has the author’s signature is different from that which appears in the National Library, and the index leaves end in a different manner from that in the NLI.
[6], 144 leaves. Missing the 2nd leaf (as noted above) and the first leaf of the indices. Detached leaves, detached binding, worming holes, good condition.
