Seder Tefillah declared by the Supreme Beit Din in Jerusalem, led by Maran Ga’avad Zvi Pesach Frank shlita, especially for Thursday, 4th of Iyar 1948, the eve of the historic declaration in the Land of Israel on the Friday, 5th of Iyar 1948 (15 May). Printed by Salomon, Jerusalem, 1948.
On the fifteenth day of May 1948, the mandate period given to Great Britain by the United Nations, regarding the control of the Land of Israel, ended. The days leading up to the end of the mandate period were a period of tension and anxiety for the Jewish community in the Land of Israel, who did not know how anything would turn out. On the day of the end of the mandate period, Ben-Gurion foretold and announced the establishment of the State of Israel. As soon as the British withdrew, the Israelis took control of dozens of cities and key points throughout the country, while in the rest of the places a war with seven armies began which was later called the "War of Liberation". These prayer pages express the tension and anxiety that surrounded the settlement in anticipation of what was to come, concerns that were soon replaced by a rising wave of joy and relief with the takeover of most of the parts of the country that were held by the British.
