Lot 101:
Page with handwritten chiddushei Torah signed as well by the Ridbaz, in which he discusses (among other things) halachot of the inheritance of tithes and burning them and making them hefker. He ends emotionally with a prayer: “I sit here with great sorry from the troubles of our brethren Bnei Yisrael in Jerusalem, it is written that many young people are leaving the holy city, may God have mercy upon us and send us our Messiah to Redeem us and build a Mikdash, Ir Zion Temaleh u’beRanena Na’aleh Yedideinu, Yaakov David Ridbaz.” The content begins in the middle of the letter and spreads onto the other side of the page.
Written on two sides of a folded page, there is a tear with a missing portion on the lower right. Stains, overall fair condition.
The Gaon Rabbi Yaakov David Wilovsky, the Ridbaz (1845-1914) was the son of Rabbi Zeev Wolff, he was a great sage of his generation, the Chief Rabbi of Slotzk and Tzfat, where he also led the Torat Eretz Yisrael yeshiva.
