The book Midrash Rabba on the Torah and five megillot with commentaries, and for the first time with the commentary Mishnat Rabbi Eliezer by Rabbi Eliezer of Pinshov and the commentary Zera Avraham by Rabbi Avraham of Galona. [3], 246, 95 leaves. The title page has a pretty illustration of Moshe with the tablets and Aharon the high priest, the aron and the cherubs, Jacob’s dream and his struggle with the angel, and King David playing the harp. Amsterdam, 1725.
Old inscribed binding (handsome), defective leather spine, worming damage mainly in the margins, title page and a number of other pages are repaired, red page cuttings, overall good condition.
The title page has the stamp of ownership of the Admor Rabbi Shlomo Friedman of Chortkov (1894-1959), the son and successor of the Admor Rabbi Nachum Mordechai Friedman of Chortkov, as well as son-in-law of his uncle the Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Sadigura. He was the fourth and final Admor of the Chortkov dynasty. He wrote the Divrei Shlomo.
