The blank binding leaf has a handwritten note: “B”h I purchased this with my money from the chassid Mohar Ben Zion Arbeitman shlita, in Nissan 1953. Moshe HaKohen Breit.”

Rabbi Ben Zion Chaim Arbeitman Apter (known as Rabbi Ben Zion Apter) was born in Poland in 1894 to Rabbi Yehezkel, and died on the 21st of Elul 1973, after a difficult illness. He is buried in the Mt. of Olives, among Breslev chassidim from Poland. He published his son’s work (Rabbi Pinchas Arbeitman), who was a gaon and student of the tzaddik Rabbi Elchanan Wasserman hy”d and the gaon Rabbi Aharon Kotler. His son was murdered in Treblinka, and a few writings remained after the war, which his father published under the name “Givat Pinchas.” Rabbi Apter’s wife also perished in the Shoah. Later, he married the widow of Rabbi Moshe Chenskover (daughter of Rabbi Aharon of Kivlich). From
