Typewritten letter signed by Rabbi Schneur Zalman Schneersohn of Paris (see below), from “6th candle of 1957, Paris.” Addressed to Rav Greenspan (see below).

The letter has blessings for nachat from his descendants and mazal tov, and writes “my wish is to pass to his children who are coming to visit Paris, our home is their home, we are ready to serve them in any way possible. We still don’t have a telephone so they should tell us in what hotel they are staying…”. Signed by hand.

Creases, light stains.

Rabbi Schneur Zalman Schneersohn (1898-1980) was a Chassidic rabbi, descendant of the Admor Tzemach Tzedek, who was also a businessman who worked to save thousands of children during the Shoah and to educate them afterward. At the end of his life he resided in New York and headed the Shevet MiYehuda yeshiva. The recipient, Rabbi Nachman Shlomo Greenspan (1880-1961) was the Rosh Yeshiva of Etz Chaim in London, and a rabbinical author.
