Original letter of blessings for the new year from Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, filled with personal blessings for the new year and a request that Rabbi Yosef Haim “request mercy for us together with all members of the Diaspora, that Hashem have mercy on those of us who remain and that he fulfil a pidyon nafsheinu and bring us to Jerusalem with happiness and may Torah go out from there.”

It seems that Rabbi Yosef Chaim was the address for all Jews in the Diaspora to ask for blessings due to his proximity to the holy places in Jerusalem.
