David (Dudu) Gerstein (born 1944 in Jerusalem) is an Israeli artist who works along the boundary between painting and sculpture. In the past, he worked in figurative painting and illustrated children’s books, and among other things, he won the Israel Museum Award for Illustration.
In recent years, Gerstein has developed a style known as post-pop art characterized by painting in bright colors on multi-layered metal cutouts, which can be defined as "wall sculptures". His works have been exhibited in museums in Israel and around the world, including a comprehensive exhibition at the Israel Museum in 1987. In 2016, he won the Taiwan International Prize for Public Sculpture.
