The title page and blank first leaf has the signature and stamp of Rabbi Ben Zion of Ostrova, a student of the Saraf of Kotzk and Admorim of the Gur dynasty. Two title pages and an additional title page for the additions. [3], 100, 24 leaves. Worming holes, binding defective and missing the spine, front binding detached, good condition.

Rabbi Ben Zion of Ostrova (1841-1926) was one of the youngest students of the Saraf of Kotzk (Rabbi Menachem Mendel) and a student of the Chiddushei HaRim and Admorim of the Gur dynasty. He was considered in his generation as a copyist of the words of the Admorim of Kotzk and a remnant of the Dor De’ah. The Imrei Emet would rise whenever he entered the room. Some of his divrei torah were gathered in the book Vayilaket Yosef ant Yitzbor Yosef.
