2 letters of blessing on official letterhead of the Admor Yaakov Yosef ben Rabbi David Twersky of Skvira. 1950s Letters of blessing sent by the Admor Yaakov Yosef ben Rabbi David Twersky of Skvira in response to kvitlach for prayers sent to him by one of his chassidim. Signed by his assistant Rabbi Yeshaya Yoel Unger.

The Rebbe blesses the recipients with multiple brachot: “Health of the body and soul, good livelihood and success in all things, health, nachat from his son that he may follow the straight path, and besorot tovot.” He ends with his classic bracha: “Refuot v’Yeshuot, Ta’anug v’Nachat.” At the end his assistant’s signature testifies to the Admor’s blessings.

The letters underwent professional restoration and the writing is blurred (see pictures). 22x14cm.

The Rebbe, Rabbi Yaakov Yosef son of Rabbi David Twersky of Skver (1898-1968). In 1927, after his father’s death he was appointed as rebbe of the Skver Chassidut in the city of Calarasi in Romania. In 1934 he moved to the city of Jasi and was saved with his family from the pogrom against the Jews in the city in 1941. After the Second World War he moved to Bucharest, and in 1948 he emigrated to the U.S. In 1957 he founded the New Square neighborhood in New York, in order to create a suitable place for his followers to live.
