Silver kiddush cup, hand-engraved beautifully around the cup (unique burning work done on a separate cylinder which was then attached subsequently to the cup). Inside are engravings of columns bearing the names of the four rivers mentioned in the book of Genesis: “Pishon, Gichon, Prat, and Chidekel”—both right-to-left, backwards, and from the end to beginning, as well as using acronyms.
This practice is a segulah mentioned by the kabbalist HaRashash, for parnasa, marriage, and more.
Weight: 110g. Diameter: 6cm. Height: 7cm. Stamped on the base: 925.
Matching base plate with a burned frame and lettering creating the sentence: “Lichvod Shabbat v’Yom Tov.” In the center is a wonderful, precise engraving of the Old City of Jerusalem and its buildings.
