“A gathering for the sake of Gd, his Torah, His people and country”, a pronouncement on behalf of the “Association of Israeli Haredi Communists” notifying of the large gathering in Jerusalem for the immigration of 100,000 Communist Jews from the USSR. Jerusalem 1951.
Unknown piece of ephemera.
Background: During the state’s establishment, religious, national and socialist ideas appeared in a jumble. Movements rose and fell, and various initiatives came about regularly. This item describes the founding of a “Communist Haredi organization”, but we have not located any further documentation of such a group.
21x28cm. Stains, folds with slight tears, small bit of tape, good condition.
