Polemical pamphlet by Rabbi Yehuda David Bernstein, a rabbi of the Rabbinical Association in New York, on the prohibition on carrying during Shabbos in New York.

At the end is a tshuva on the use of electricity during Shabbos—one of the first rabbis to publish on the subject. This pamphlet was printed as a response to the book by Rabbi Yehoshua Siegel, “Eiruv v’Hotza’ah”, published in 1907. Rav Bernstein came out against the opinion of Rav Siegel and forbade carrying on the streets of New York, especially Manhattan. At the end of the book the author gives a tshuva in which he describes at length the manufacture of electricity and gives his conclusion that it is forbidden to use it on Shabbos. He was one of the first rabbis to write on the subject!
