The Admor Rabbi Yehuda Leib Ashlag (1885-1955), author of the “Sulam”, was a great kabbalist of the last generation. He served in the rabbinate of Warsaw and later in Givat Shaul in Jerusalem. Over time a large group of students and chassidim gathered around him, including the kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Yair Weinstock and more. He authored and published many books, the most famous of which is the Sulam commentary on the Zohar.
