Postcard handwritten and signed by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Farber, head of the Hitachdut HaRabbanim and a founder of Torah Judaism in England. Addressed to Rabbi Hillel Medalya, a leader of Mizrachi in England.

Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Farber, the Kerem Zvi (1879-1967) was the son of Yehuda Leib of Slobodka. He studied under: Rabbi Yitzhak Elhanan in Kovna, Rabbi Yitzhak Belzer, Rabbi Moshe Danishevsky, Rabbi Naftali Amsterdam. He was rabbi in Kalikol-the Kovna district, in 1907. He later immigrated to England and served in the Etz Haim yeshiva in London, and Ram in the Manchester yeshiva (led by Rabbi Menachem Dov Danotzky). In 1910 he was appointed rabbi of a community in London. He was a founder and head of the Rabbinical Assembly in London. He authored Eshet Chayil and more, as well as many articles in journals of the period.
Rabbi Dr. Hillel Medalia (1916 – 1977), left Russia in 1922. He received a Torah and general education, and received a doctorate in philosophy. He was one of the leaders of the Mizrahi movement in England, served as rabbi of Leeds (England), Dublin (Ireland) and Antwerp (Belgium). He published a book, which he called ‘Sheila’, which alludes to the name of his father – Shmaryahu Yehuda Leib, in conjunction with his name – Hillel. He also exalted the Shulchan Aruch with an English translation.
