Lot 199:
Sefer Chessed LeAvraham "revealing secrets, deciphering the hidden, the secrets of Creation and glory of the Universe", an ancient Chassidic work by the Admor the Gaon, father of the Slonim dynasty, Rabbi Avraham Weinberg, the disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Moshe of Kobryn, known after this work as Baal Yessod HaAvodah.
First edition – Josefow. Surprisingly, based on the title page, the Hebrew year is "תרמ"ה" (1885) whereas the Gregorian one is 1886, which of course is impossible rendering one of them an error. [1], 39, [1], 25, [1], 65 leaves. Separate title page for each section. Foreword by his grandson and successor Rabbi Shmuel, author of the Divrei Shmuel.
The work is made of three sections. The first two are titled Assarah Mamrot and the third, Yessod HaAvot Uvrit Milah VeYetzi’at Mitzrayim. Thus, the work is unique in that it deals with the Kabbalistic aspect of complete subjects and is not based on Parashiyot HaTorah like most early Chassidic books.
Detached front board and very loose back one. Ancient embossed leather spine. Varied minor blemishes. Good overall condition.
