Lot 276:
"הנסיעה לארה"ק תהי’ מיד אחר חג הפסח" Letter by the holy Rav and wonder-worker Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich Av Beit Din of Shamloy, handwritten and signed byhim, addressed to the Kabbalist Rabbi Asher Yeshaya Zelig Margaliot of Jerusalem, with fascinating details – Shamloy, 1935.
In the letter that was sent to Rabbi Margaliot, Rabbeinu blesses him with good health: "וצר לי בצערו צערא דגופא העליון ית"ש ירפאהו במהרה וישיב לאיתנו ותוקפו הראשון". He also asks him to pray for his son Rabbi Yehoshua Ehrenreich: "וכעת באתי לבקשו היות כי בני היקר בבת עיני הרב ר’ יהושע בן הינדל נ"י… זה איזה שבועות אשר מרגיש חולשה בלב נא להתפלל בעדו במקום הקודש". An interesting, unknown detail indicated by the letter is that rabbeinu planned to visit Eretz Yisrael that year, a visit that did not come to pass, since, to the best of our knowledge, Rabbeinu never visited Eretz Yisrael: "הנסיעה לאה"ק תהיה מיד אחר חג הפסח הבע"ל ועדיין לא אדע דבר ברור ועוד אודיעהו ברצ"ה".
On verso, his two sons added their signatures: "גם אני דוש"ת בידידות משה יודא עהר’ רב בג’ שאמלויא" – Rabbi Moshe Yehoshua Ehrenreich, eventually Av Beit Din of Shormoshag. And on the lower part of the leaf: "…המברכו בשמחת פורים הק’ חיים בן נחמה…" – another of the Rav of Shamloy’s sons, older than his above brother.

Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich (1863-1944) Av Beit Din of Shamloy and author of Shut Lechem Shlomo. A Gaon, Chassid and Kabbalist, one of the leading rabbis of Hungary, a leading Chassid of the Admor author of the Kedushat Yom Tov of Siget and an admirer of his son the Admor Rabbi Yoel of Satmar, who, like him, sharply objected to Zionism and Agudat Yisrael. Yet, he was also known for his love of Eretz Yisrael and his community sent the largest donations to Eretz Yisrael. During the Holocaust, he could escape to Romania yet refused to do so, saying he now had a chance to observe the Mitzvah of Kiddush hashem. He perished in Auschwitz with most of his family.
