"החתן הוא נוקם ונוטר" Interesting letter handwritten and signed by the Rabbi Dr. Menachem Mendel Frankel of Roman to Rabbi Avraham Moshe Babad Av Beit Din of Gura Humora – Roman, 1947.

The content of the letter: an argument between two families whose children were engaged and then the bridegroom changed his mind. The groom’s family lived in the city of Rabbi Avraham Moshe Babad and the bride’s in the city of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Frankel. Rabbeinu writes the amount of compensation and how it is to be paid to the bride’s family: "שש מאות אלף לע"י יסולק הסכום תכף תחת ידיד כמה"ר והשאר הקנס כפי אשר יבין כמה"ר"

Rabbi Dr. Menachem Mendel Frankel of Roman (1911-1973) was born in Tzishinov. Received the title of Dr. in Vienna. In 1935 was appointed Rav of Roman, Romania. Survived the Holocaust and immigrated to Israel in 1950. 

The addressee, Rabbi Avraham Moshe Babad (1900-1980) the son of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Babad of Gure Humora, Rav and Chassidic Rosh Yeshiva in Bucovina and Israel. A leading disciples of the Gaon Rabbi Meir Arik of Tarnow. Succeeded his father as Rav of Gura Humora. After the war, in 1948, tried to immigrate to Eretz Yisrael yet was exiled to Cyprus, where he served as Rav of the Camp. Was close to the Chazon Ish. In ca. 1952 was appointed the Rosh Yeshiva of Yachel Yisrael of the Seret-Vizhnitz Chassidut headed by his brother-in-law the Admor Rabbi Baruch Hager.
