Lot 200:
"ומצוה גדולה הוא להתיר את העיגון הלזה" Letter handwritten by Rabbi nachum Shmarya Shechter, addressed to Eabbi Avraham Moshe Babad with a request to join a Heiter Meah Rabbanim in the midst of the Holocaust – 1944.
In the letter, Rabbi Shechter notes the rabbis who already agreed to sign the Heiter: the Rav of Chernovich, Bacau, Bohush, Vaslui, Skolen and more, and asks Rabbi Babad to join: "ויאבה נא כת"ה בטובו לצרף נא גם את השובי"ם המופלגים דמחנהו וגם שאר מופלגי תורה דקהילתו הראוים להצטרף למנינא דא".
In those days, in the midst of the Holocaust, Romania was the only place where there was an operating community and rabbinate.

The Gaon Chassid Rabbi Nachum Shmarya Shechter served as Dayan and Av Beit Din of several communities – Daroban, Hushi and Bucharest. Author of Parach Shoshan, Beit hamidrash Shem VeEver and more. Was a Chassid of the holy Admor Rabbi Matityahu of Shtefanehst. After the passing of his Rav, authored the booklet Aniyat Amen with a eulogy for his holy Rav.
