Lot 28:
Sefer Pri Chadash on Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim and Hilchot Gittin, by the Gaon Rabbi Chzikiya di Silva (1656-1696, one of the leading rabbis and Poskim of Eretz Yisrael in the 17th century). The year appearing on the title page [1903] is a mistake and according to the approbations, it was printed in Karlsruh, 1757. [2], 82, 32 leaves.
This book is considered one of the basic Psikah books. At first, the book was strongly opposed since the author did not shy away from disagreeing with Maran the Beit Yosef and additional preceding editions. The rabbis of Egypt went so far as to forbid reading the book "לא קריאת ארעי ולא קריאת קבע". However, the ban was naturally removed when Rabbi Skomo Algazi the second, who was a leading disciple of Rabbeinu the author, became Chief Rabbi of Egypt. On another section of this book, on Yoreh Deah, Rabbeinu the holy Or Hachaim authored his book Pri Toar, to settle the questions of the Pri Chadash on the Poskim.
Old binding, ancient leather spine. Stains and some moth. Good overall condition.
On the title page and more, stamps: "הצעיר ע"ה חיים דוד סיריריא ראב"ד עית פאס יע"א ואגפיה" – Rabbi Chaim David Serero (18840-1960) Av Beit Din of Fes and Mugador of Norocco and a Dayan in Marakesh. Was the last Dayan of the Serero family of rabbis, the first one being Rabbi Shaul Serero in 1601.

On verso of the binding, a large notation in square script: "ע"ה רבי אברהם פימינטה נרו". In addiiton, on the title page, the handwritten signature of Rabbi Susskind Kara Av Beit Din of Lesrin.
