Lot 112:
Mishnat Chassidim, a Kabbalistic work by the great Kabbalist Rabbi Emmanuel Chai Ricci. Oublished for the first time with the Taam Etzo commentary by Rabbi Pinchas Eliyahu Horowitz if Vilna, author of Sefer habrit. At its end, a lengthy folding leaf – sketch of HaIlan Hakadosh. Printed in Krakow, 1889. [4], 99, [1] leaves.
Approbations by leading Admorim. At its end, a list of subscribers .
Detached binding. Loose and worn fabric spine. Stains. Detached title page and flyleaf. A small tear to the title page. Good overall condition.
On the title page, a blurred and blemished stamp and an erased notation. In addition, a pencil notation of "מוגה". On the front and back flyleaf, a lengthy handwritten Kabbalistic notation. We did not manage to identify its writer.
The Dayan Kabbalist Rabbi Raphael Emmanuel Chai Ricci (1687-1743) became famous for his work the Mishnat Chassidim, an important Kabbalistic book printed twice during his lifetime and then in many more editions. He was praised by leading rabbis. He authored many other books including Aderet Eliyahu, Hon Ashir, and more. His home in Jerusalem was later used by Rabbeinu Chaim ben Atar for his famed yeshiva, Knesset Yisrael.
