Important Judaica. Filigree work, welding, and screwing in with influence of European motifs. These rimonim were made by the Lovad family, a family of jewelers from Marrakesh, in the last quarter of the 19th century. The jeweler from this family was the only one in Morocco who created silver items with filigree work. A pair of his rimonim are in the Jewish Museum in New York. An additional pair are in a private collection in Europe, and another in a private collection in Israel. The pair before us is the 4th known set until now. Weight: 1203g. Height: 33.5cm. One of them is missing a few chains for bells, plus the bells. Generally good condition. Item brought to sale from a private collection.
