Special historical item – evidence of the words of Maran the Saba Kaddisha of Ruzhin – by the order of his eldest son the Admor Rabbi Shalom Yosef of Sadigura – hand-signed by the Geonim Rabbi Eliezer of Topirov, Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh of Ludmir and Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Linsk – Potik, 1851 – the year of the Saba Kaddisha and his son’s passing.

Special evidence, which was written at the seam between the passing of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin and that of his son, the Admor Rabbi Shalom Yosef of Sadigura, both of whom passed away in the same year – 1851. In their letter, the rabbis write that Rabbi Shalom Yosef ordered them to ask two people whether they heard his father, the late Admor, order to write a document for the Shadar Rabbi Elazar Margolis for receiving sixty Rubels each year. The rabbis state that they had asked those people, who confirmed they had indeed heard him order it: 

"פקד עלינו הרב הצדיק מו"ה שלום יוסף שי’ לשאול את פיהם של הני שני אנשים… אם שמעו מפי ק’ אבא אדומ"ר הרב הצדיק המנוח זללה"ה… אשר פקד לכתוב כתב להשד"ר המופלג בנש"ק מו"ה אלעזר מרגליות שיקבל בכל שנה… שישים רוביל… ומחמת שנלקח ארון אלקים לשמים הוא אדמו"ר הצדיק המנוח ז"ל… ושאלנו את שני האנשים הנ"ל…. אשר אמת. הדבר אשר שמעו מפיו הצדיק… כי כך היה רצונו הטהור ושמעו ממנו טעמו בזה…".


The letter is hand-signed by: 

– Rabbi Eliezer of Topirov, one of the leading Chssidim of the Saraf of Strelisk. After his passing, he began following the Saba Kaddisha of Ruzhin.

-Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Linsk – apparently, the son of Rabbi Avraham Chaim Horowitz of Linsk, the son of the Admor Rabbi Naftali of Ropshitz.

– The Gaon Chassid Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh of Ludmir.
