Buyer's premium:

Glass negative of a portrait of Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin. The negative was produced in Eretz Yisrael for the Admor it is the original negative from which his photographs were printed and distributed to the Chassidim in Eretz Yisrael. It should be noted that the development of the negative produces a clearer and sharper photograph than the one that is familiar today.

This rare and important item came from the estate of the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchk Sofer, who received it from his father the Gaon Rabbi Asher Sofer, who funded many visits of his Rav to Eretz Yisrael and apparently, also the production of the negative, which is why he owned it. See previous item for an original photograph that was developed from this negative in the Admor’s lifetime.
