Letter handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Bezalel Panet, Av Beit Din of Retieg – Retieg, 1896. 

The content of the letter: expression of gratitude for Hadasim for Sukkot that were sent to him by his friend Rabbi Chaim Mordechai Green. Later, personal matters of Rabbeinu and his family are discussed.

The Gaon Rabbi Chaim Bezalel Panet (1875-1915) a descendant of the Admor Rabbi Yechezkel Panet Av Beit Din of Karlsburg, author of the Mareh Yechezkel. Son-in-law of the Admor Rabbi Zeev Wolf Tzitron (the son-in-law of Rabbi Shmuel Frankel of Dorog author of the Imrei Shafer). A disciple of the Admor Rabbi Moshe of Deyzh, the Yitav lev and Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald of Satmar. In 1895, succeeded his father as Rav of Retieg, a position he held for approx. twenty years, until his passing in 1915. In Retieg, he established a large yeshiva with many students, who were later famed Hungarian rabbis.
