Set of Mishnah Berurah, the basic book by Rabbeinu Yisrael Meir Hacohen of Radin, the Chafetz Chaim. On most of the volumes of the set, the notation "Mugeh" (proofread) handwritten by Rabbeinu. Some with original bindings.
Set of six volumes:
Section I: Warsaw, 1896. 151, [1] leaves. Notation of Mugeh on the flyleaf.
Section II: Warsaw, 1910. 154 leaves. Pen notation of Mugeh on the flyleaf.
Section III: Warsaw, 1893. [1], 195 leaves. Pen notation of Mugeh on the flyleaf.
Section IV: Warsaw, 1910. [1], 196-290 leaves. Notation of Mugeh on verso of the binding.
Section V: Warsaw, 1904. 153, [1] leaves. Two pencil notations of Mugeh on verso of the binding and on the flyleaf.
Section VI: Piotrkow, 1907. 164 leaves. On the flyleaf, the book’s price handwritten by Rabbeinu.
Varied signatures and ownership notations. Conditions vary. Varied blemishes. Some tapins and some tears. Wear and aging stains. Good overall condition. Original bindings with varied blemishes. On three of them, the famed jug embossment of the Chafetz Chaim’s books. All with new matching fabric spines. Additional restorations to the bindings.
