Lot 040:
Probably Hungary, 20th century. Model of a Galleon merchant ship, a type of large armed sailboat with several decks used by European countries from the 16th to the 18th century for war and commerce. The belly of the boat is done via wood-shaped incision on a sculpted pedestal. A two-story deck with openings covered with red enamel and studded with small stones, 4 masts with red enamel sails, in one of the sails there is a plate with the Ten Commandments. In the center is a white flag enameled with a Star of David in the center. Height: 34cm. Width: 25cm. A similar item was sold at Sotheby’s in April 2017 for $9,000.
