Lot 396:
Manuscript – articles of the Rebbe Rayatz of Lubavitch. Written in pleasant and neat oriental handwriting on squared notebook leaves bound with hard cardboard. The manuscript contains: Booklets of articles about Purim, between the years 1948-1952. Booklets about the festival of Pesach, 1950-1951. Lag B’Omer Booklet, 1950. The booklet Bati L’Gani, with the last article of the Rebbe Rayatz and the article HaYoshevet BaGanim. [In 1950, 10 Shevat fell on Shabbat. In honor of this day, the booklet before us Kuntress 10-13 Shevat was published, with a Chassidic article on the verse ‘I came to my garden my sister, my bride’ and continues with the article ‘HaYosehevet BaGanim’. The Rebbe Rayatz died on this Shabbat, and it became clear that he wrote the article ‘Bati L’Gani’ for the day of his death]. Some of the articles have an introduction from the Rebbe Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Lubavitch. Each booklet has a separate title page. | A short time before his death the Rebbe Rayatz said “There is a place to be fenced in. Go to the Jews of Morocco who need teachers, and disseminate Torah among them. There is no difference between Ashkenazi and Sephardi Jews. We are all the children of Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov, and we have one God in the Heavens and one Torah on earth”. This was the catalyst for the beginning of dissemination of Torah in the countries of North Africa. | Binding is partially detached. Tiny moth holes. Ownership stamp on the last page. | 252 leaves. 17 cm. | Overall condition: Very good.
